Awaken the Maelstrom, the effect on the reverse side of Invasion of Alara is absolutely great

I love him with sacrifice effects like the one that sacrifices Clerics called Starlit Sanctum or Vampiric Rites for cards or a generic mana free way in your colors like Phyrexian Altar

That first ability resembles the shenanigans you can get up to with Dargo, the Shipwrecker, so in the right deck, you can cast it for two mana, attack for seven (that can only be blocked by legendary creatures), and then sacrifice it to destroy an annoying artifact or creature

They're not really my favorite creature type in Magic, but they are fun

But with the addition of Bargain to Archons Glory, suddenly you have an exceptional single-target boost for a very low cost

It transforms Treasure, Food, Clues, and so on into an aggressive army
